I am fascinated by the world of abstract painting,where formal art elements such as line, shape,texture and color, speak more clearly than traditional subject and background. It is not about the subject you paint, but how you paint it. Abstract painting is a world of ideas and emotions that, unlike how I experience physical reality, offers limitless possibilities.
I start from reality and abstract from it. I remove traces of the real, and through the filter of my life experiences, intuition and emotion, arrive at a unique place. While my paintings start with a clear point of departure, I allow the intuitive decision making process to take over, arriving or stopping at a place of interest.
